Dr. Mohammad Abu Srour
Dr. Mohammad is the advising local physician for Health for Palestine’s CHW team in Aida/Azza. He oversees all emergency cases, participates in trainings of the CHWs, and manages any medication changes for patients as well as reviews lab results.
Mohammad Al-Azza
Mohammad is an award-winning photo journalist and documentarian from Bethlehem. He directs the Arts & Media Unit of Lajee Center in Aida Camp. His first documentary, Ali Wall, won the Global Jury Prize of the “It Is Apartheid Film Contest” (2010), and his documentary Everyday Nakba (2011) mobilized an international movement to improve access to clean water in Palestine. He has not been immune to the violence inflicted on the occupied West Bank. In 2013 he was shot in the face while filming an army incursion into Aida camp, and arrested and beaten by Israeli forces.
Hamzeh Abedrabbu
Hamzeh Abedrabbu, BA, is the social work supervisor. Mr. Abedrabbu focuses on guiding, educating, and supporting the CHWs as they engage in the complex process of providing psychosocial support to their patients. Mr. Abedrabbu is a member of the Resilience Research Collaborative (RRC). Mr. Abedrabbu also works at Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation, in Beit Jala as a self-employment officer on Economic Empowerment Program to fight against isolation and discrimination against people with disabilities. Mr. Abedrabbu has extensive experience as a facilitator, trainer, educator, and counselor in Palestine. In the past, Mr. Abedrabbu has worked for a wide-range of health and social service organizations, including as a social worker at the East Jerusalem Y.M.C.A, and as a social worker at Médecins du Monde, Switzerland team in Palestine, where he designed and implemented a project supporting Palestinian children who were ex-detainees.
